NZBA supports direction for decision-makers on the management of natural hazard risks in new developments, and agrees that greater consistency is needed between local authorities in identifying and managing these hazards. Greater data availability, further specificity, and transparency from local authorities in their decision-making processes could strengthen the objectives of the proposed national policy statement.
